Terms of Service

The short version

• You're agreeing to use Pax Gate. Visiting paxgate.app or using the app means you accept the rules below.
• You must be at least 13 years old. Or 16 in the EU and UK. If you're younger, please don't sign up.
• Don't scrape, abuse, or interfere with the service. Use it the way a thoughtful person would.
• The Pax mascot, designs, copy, and code are ours. You can use Pax Gate, but please don't republish or resell the brand or content.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

"Pax Gate," "we," "us," or "our" refers to the team operating paxgate.app and the Pax Gate app. "You" or "your" refers to anyone visiting the site, signing up for the waitlist, or using the app once it launches.

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") cover both the website at paxgate.app and the Pax Gate mobile app. Some sections only apply to one or the other; we'll call that out where it matters.

If you don't agree with these Terms, please stop using the site and don't sign up for the waitlist. Continued use means you accept the latest version.

2. Who can use Pax Gate

You must be at least 13 years old to sign up for the waitlist or use the Pax Gate app. In the European Union, the United Kingdom, and certain other jurisdictions where the digital-consent age is higher, you must be at least 16 years old.

If you're under the age in your jurisdiction, please don't submit any personal information. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone below that threshold, and we'll delete it if we learn we have any.

When you give us information (an email, a platform, an app you struggle with), you're confirming that it's accurate and that it belongs to you. Please don't sign someone else up.

3. Joining the waitlist

The waitlist form on paxgate.app collects your email address and a few optional answers about how you'd use the app. None of the optional answers are required to join.

By submitting the form, you're agreeing to receive launch-related email from us. We'll keep that to a minimum: a confirmation, a heads-up when the beta opens, and an email when the app is live. No marketing drip, no third-party offers.

You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email we send and asking us to remove you, or by emailing hello@paxgate.app. We'll process the request within five business days.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape the site, the app, or the waitlist API in an automated way.
• Submit a fake email or someone else's email to the waitlist.
• Use the service to harass, threaten, or impersonate any person.
• Probe, scan, or otherwise test the security of the site or any associated infrastructure without our explicit written permission.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Pax Gate app, except where applicable law permits it despite this restriction.
• Use the site or app to violate any law, regulation, or third party's rights.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service (for example, overloading the waitlist endpoint or evading rate limits).

If you spot a security issue, we'd genuinely love to hear about it. Please email security@paxgate.app with a description and we'll respond as quickly as we can.

5. Our content and your license to use it

The Pax mascot artwork, the Pax Gate name and logo, the website copy, the app's design and code, and all related materials are owned by us or our licensors. They're protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to view paxgate.app and use the Pax Gate app for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. That license does not include the right to:

• Copy, modify, or republish any of the artwork, copy, or branding.
• Use any part of the site or app to build a competing product or service.
• Use our trademarks (including the Pax name and the mascot) without our prior written permission.

All rights we don't expressly grant are reserved.

6. Content you submit

On the website, the only content you submit is what you type into the waitlist form. By submitting, you're telling us the email is yours and the answers are honest.

In the app, your reflections, journal entries, mood logs, and any other content you create stay on your device. They are not transmitted to our servers (see the Privacy Policy for the full inventory). Because that content never reaches us, we don't claim any rights in it. It's yours.

7. Plans, pricing, and billing

Pax Gate offers a free tier (Free Mode) and a paid tier (Premium). Free Mode gates only one app with a basic gratitude prompt and gives you access to a starter sanctuary with Pax. Premium expands those into multi-app gating, additional gate types (breathwork, observational, body awareness, timed), the journal and recaps, Insights, the Bambu Bazaar with prompt packs, and additional sanctuary rooms.

Subscription and purchase options

• Monthly: $7.99 per month, billed monthly. Includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
• Yearly: $29.99 per year (equivalent to $2.50 per month), billed annually. Includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
• Lifetime: $79.99 one-time purchase. Unlocks Premium for as long as the app is offered. No recurring charge.

Prices are listed in US dollars and may differ in other regions; the price shown on the Play Store at the time of purchase is the price you'll be charged. Promotional pricing may be offered and, when active, is displayed on the in-app paywall.

Free trial

New subscribers to the Monthly or Yearly plan receive a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial. The subscription begins automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel through your Play Store account at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Lifetime purchases do not include a trial.

Renewal

Monthly and Yearly subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the same rate, unless you cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep Premium access until that period ends. Lifetime is a one-time purchase and does not renew.

Cancellation and refunds

All purchases are processed through Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS, when available). The storefront handles billing, taxes, refunds, and cancellations. To cancel a subscription, open your Play Store account and manage subscriptions; we cannot cancel on your behalf. Refund requests follow Google Play's refund policy; reach out to hello@paxgate.app if you'd like a hand routing one.

Changes to pricing

We may change prices for future billing periods. We'll give you advance notice (in-app or by email) before any price change takes effect on a subscription you currently hold. Continuing to use Premium after a price change means you accept the new price; if you don't, cancel before the change applies.

8. Disclaimers

Pax Gate is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including (without limitation) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from a course of dealing or trade usage.

We do not warrant that the site or app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components, or that any defects will be corrected.

Pax Gate is a wellness tool, not a medical product. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any health condition. If you're experiencing a mental-health crisis, please reach out to a qualified professional or, in the US, dial 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall Pax Gate, its operators, employees, or affiliates be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including (without limitation) loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of the site or app.

Our total liability to you for all claims arising under or related to these Terms or your use of the service is limited to the greater of (a) US $50 or (b) the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Pax Gate and its operators from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any law or any third party's rights.

11. Termination

You can stop using Pax Gate at any time by closing the site, unsubscribing from waitlist emails, or uninstalling the app.

We can suspend or terminate your access to the site, the waitlist, or the app at any time if we reasonably believe you've violated these Terms or are misusing the service. We'll generally try to give notice first, except when doing so would let the misuse continue.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that the parties can't resolve informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in St Lawrence County, New York, and both parties consent to that venue.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, especially as the app launches and we add new features (payments, accounts, content syncing, and so on). When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be surfaced on the homepage or via the email address on file with the waitlist.

Continuing to use Pax Gate after we update the Terms means you accept the new version. If you don't agree, your remedy is to stop using the service and (optionally) ask us to delete your waitlist entry.

14. Other things worth knowing

Severability

If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.

No waiver

If we don't enforce a right under these Terms in a specific situation, that doesn't waive our ability to enforce it later.

Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Pax Gate regarding the site and the app.

Assignment

You can't assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We can assign these Terms freely (for example, if the business is acquired).
